Flowers ... In just about everyone's mind they are almost as important as the newlyweds themselves! Hardly anything represents the bride's taste, style, and personality as much as the flowers she chooses to accompany her into her "forever after" bliss.
Here are some helpful ideas you can use for yourself or to pass to your girlfriends as original knowledge...
Be simple but showy
Budget need not be the determining factor in your ultimate decision about the flowers that are going to grace your grand event. Unique blooms accented by distinctive greens in small quantities can show off your great taste and high style and make you really stand out. Try single blooms of orchids, anthuriums, or a variety of proteas, or just go for unusual greens, and vuala - you are ahead of the game!
Do your homework
With the internet's limitless knowledge available at your fingertips, be sure to do your homework as soon as your groom is up from one knee! You can tie the whole event together with a color scheme, an idea, a song, or even a play on words (I once read an article by someone marrying into the last name "Sunshine").
Even if you have a difficult time making a derision, knowing what you DON'T like can be very helpful. After you've seen enough to make your eyes cross, you would've surely figured out what you want to run away from. In any case, coming to your florist armed with some knowledge and/or pictures or color swatches dramatically increases your chances of being understood and getting the best flowers!
